The Surat District Cricket Association was formerly known as The Southern Gujarat Cricket Association. It was formed in 1933.
Initially, the association didn’t have its own ground. Earlier, cricket matches were played on police headquarters ground later on MTB College, K. P. College ground and Baroda Rayon ground.
Due to the changes in the constitution in 1988, the association was registration as The Surat District Cricket Association in charity commissioner’s office. SDCA’s activities were restricted to Surat city and Surat district only.
